AlterMassage École's mission is to train in amma massage :
- people with disabilities who wish to make it their profession;
- caregivers and social workers who wish to use amma to care for the people in their care;
- anyone wishing to learn sympathetic massage® to massage their loved ones.
AlterMassage École's vision is both to professionalize and democratize the seated massage created by David Palmer in California in the 1980s. Based on amma, the traditional Japanese massage, David Palmer created katas - precise sequences of techniques - and the ergonomic chair, which were then disseminated worldwide.
By joining forces with AlterMassage to create AlterMassage Ecole, David Palmer wanted to establish his teaching on a long-term basis, enabling thousands of people to make a living from this beneficial profession, and millions of people to learn how to massage their loved ones and thus develop authentic, peaceful relationships.
Since 2014, AlterMassage has been employing people on permanent contracts, the majority of whom are disabled, to market and carry out massages in companies, communities, care facilities, etc. Its regional subsidiaries AlterMassage Ile-de-France and AlterMassage Pays de la Loire recently received Entreprise Adaptée accreditation to develop their efforts in inclusion and professional advancement.
Since 2019, AlterMassage has been cooperating with the Xavier Court School for the amma training of its teams. Created in 2003 by Xavier Court, this school is the only one recognized in France by David Palmer, the only one to have obtained an RNCP title in amma massage and the only one to operate in more than 11 cities in France. In May 2025, Xavier Court offered AlterMassage the opportunity to take over his training activity on the occasion of his retirement.
In October 2025, AlterMassage and Céline Gré, President and partner of AlterMassage Pays de la Loire, decided to transform this AlterMassage subsidiary into AlterMassage Ecole. AlterMassage Ecole is a certified adapted company, committed to providing training by and for people with disabilities, in massage, massage sales, helping relationships and digital accessibility.
AlterMassage has chosen to publish this advert on November 27, 2025, David Palmer's birthday.
